BOLOGNA SECURE EIGHTH STRAIGHT SERIE/A SEASON

Bologna have secured their eighth straight season in the Italian Serie A after beating Inter Milan in their rescheduled game earlier in the week. The hosts were able to ensure their Italian Serie A safety thanks to the 2-1 comeback victory over the holders.

Italian football top flight welcomed Bologna in the summer of 2015 after seeing off Pescara in the playoffs. The two teams played out 1-1 on aggregate with the second leg ending 1-1 beforeBologna sealed a return to the Italian Serie Afor finishing above their opponents at the end of the regular season in the Italian Serie B. Bologna finished in fourth spot and seven points ahead of Pescara in seventh spot.

ATLETICO, JUVENTUS IN BATTLE FOR MOLINA

Argentina international right-back Nahuel Molina is the subject of interest from two European teams namely Italian football side Juventus and Spanish champions Atletico Madrid. Molina has impressed for Udinese in the Italian Serie A this season and clubs are keen on signing him this summer. In addition to being a regular for Udinese in the Italian league, right-sided defender Molina is also a regular in the Argentine national team setup under Lionel Scaloni.


It looks like it would be a straight fight between Spanish La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid and Italian football giants Juventus. 24-year-old Molina already has six goals and three assists in 28 Italian Serie A games this season. He has thrived well under Gabriele Cioffi, the Udinese manager. Molina is destined for a big move away from Udinese this summer and the Iyakiams have already made their peace with it. EYES ON JUVENTUS AFTER INTER EXIT

All eyes are on Juventus after the exit of Inter Milan in the Champions League this week as Italian football bids to remain in the competition. Italian football started the Champions League this season with four representatives namely Atalanta, Inter Milan, Juventus and AC Milan. The Italian football representatives were down to two teams by the end of the group stage. Italian champions Inter Milan and Juventus were the only teams from Italian football to make it past the group stage. Atalanta and AC Milan both crashed out of the Champions League this season at the group stage.


Inter Milan finished second behind Real Madrid in Group D, while Juventustopped Group H ahead of defending champions Chelsea.

NO ARSENAL AGREEMENT FOR ARTHUR

Premier League heavyweights Arsenal are still in talks to sign Brazilian midfielder Arthur from Italian football giants Juventus. This is according to the report from popular news portal Goal which stated that the Gunners have not been able to reach an agreement for the player who has already started looking for a house in London. It was revealed that Federico Pastorello met with directors at the Arsenal headquarters in London on Wednesday to discuss the possible transfer of his client. Pastorello is the agent of Brazil international Arthur.

Several Italian media outlets have reported that Arsenal are not willing to offer anything more than a loan deal for the Juventus midfielder. It is clear that Italian football club Juventus are holding out for more than a dry loan from the Gunners for Arthur. The Brazilian midfielder is keen on leaving Italian football for Arsenal as he has a better chance of getting minutes in comparison to his time at Juventus.

MORATA AGREES TERMS WITH BARCELONA

Juventus striker Alvaro Morata has reportedly agreed terms with five-time European champions Barcelona. The latest update on Morata, Italian football giants Juventus and Barcelona was provided by journalist Romeo Agresti.

Morata has agreed a deal with Barcelona, but he has to wait for the Catalan giants to reach an agreement with his Italian football club and parent club Atletico Madrid. The 29-year-old Spanish striker has been strongly linked with an exit from Italian football team Juventus in this winter transfer window as he has not really convinced Old Lady manager Massimiliano Allegri that he’s the man to score the goals that would win titles for the club. Juventus are already looking for a replacement for him. Some of the options for Juventus include Arsenal star Pierre-EmerickAubameyang and Paris Saint Germain (PSG) attacker Mauro Icardi.

MILAN CRASH OUT OF EUROPE

Italian football received a big blow following the exit of Serie A leaders AC Milan from European competitions this season. The Italian football heavyweights are out of all the conceptions on the European football stage this season after the disappointing 2-1 loss to Liverpool in Group B of this season’s Champions League.

Milan fans were disappointed that their team could not hold their own against a depleted Liverpool team despite taking the lead. The Italian football giants conceded two goals either side of the break to lose the game to Liverpool.

OSPINA OFFERED NEW NAPOLI DEAL

Italian football side Napoli have offered first choice goalkeeper David Ospina a new deal. This is according to Sky Sports Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio. It was revealed that Colombian senior national team shot stopper Ospinahas been given a new deal to ensure that he commits his future to the Italian Serie A leaders and also prevent him from leaving Napoli on a free transfer when his current deal expires next summer.

Italian football capital club Lazio are said to be interested in signing Ospina when his Napoli deal expires at the end of this season. He has some months left on his existing Napoli contract and the shot stopper can start to negotiate a free transfer move with foreign clubs at the start of next year.

Napoli are the only team with a perfect record in Italian football after six games this season. The Europa League campaigners have been in sensational form in the Italian Serie A this season but that unblemished record is at serious risk ahead of the trip to Florence later this weekend.

The Partenopei take on a Fiorentina side with four wins in the league this term. Also, Fiorentina have won four of their last five Serie A outings. The only defeat in five matches in the Italian football top flight came against defending champions Inter Milan. Fiorentina lost 3-1 to the Nerazzuri with ten men after Argentine international Nicolas Gonzalez was sent off for dissent via two yellow cards in quick succession.
