Juventus are the undisputed kings of Italian football as they have the most top flight titles ahead of rivals Inter Milan and AC Milan. The Turin giants have twice as much league titles in the Italian Serie A as both Inter Milan and AC Milan.

The Old Lady secured a ninth successive league title in the Italian Serie A last season to take their league tally to 36 and also to further cement their status as the kings of Italian football.

Juventus are the reigning champions as pointed out earlier but they have seen their bid to win an unprecedented ten successive league title suffer due to the form of rivals Inter Milan who have 12 more points than the Old Lady ahead of the final eight games in the Italian football top flight this season.

Inter Milan are the joint second most successful team in the Italian Serie A alongside AC Milan but they are closing in on title number 19 which will see them move clear of city rivals Milan in second place. In addition to having the same number of Serie A titles, the two Milan clubs have also finished runners-up the same number of times. Just like what’s obtainable with Milan, Inter have finished in second place on the Serie A table 15 times.

In the runners-up category in the Serie A, Juventus also take the league with 21 second-place finishes.

It would surprise a lot of Serie A football watchers to know that Genoa are the most successful team in the Italian Serie A apart from the aforementioned trio of Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan. Genoa have won the competition nine times and have finished as runners-up on four occasions.

Torino and Juventus are Turin rivals and the former is next to Genoa with seven league titles plus eight runners-up finishes. Just like Torino, Bologna and Pro Vercelli have also won the Serie A title seven times.
